Adams Community Bank Hires Branch Officers for Lenox, Lee

ADAMS, Mass. — Charles P. O’Brien, President, and CEO of Adams Community Bank, announces a new branch hire and a recent promotion.

Kara Clark has been promoted to Branch Officer of the Lenox branch. Clark began with Adams Community Bank five years ago as a Customer Service Representative in Williamstown. After only two years of customer service and extensive ACB product and service knowledge, she was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager at our Park Street location.


Don Disbrow joins Adams Community Bank as the Branch Officer at the bank's Lee location. Don comes to us from CARR Hardware, where he worked as the General Manager for multiple locations, including the Lee

Williamstown Fire District Sets Dec. 7 Vote on New Station

  WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Five years after the fire district's voters approved purchasing a Main Street parcel for a new station, the Prudential Committee is ready to ask those voters to take the next step.   On Wednesday, the committee voted 5-0 to set a special district meeting for Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. when voters will be asked to approve borrowing to pay for construction of a new station.   The Prudential Committee accepted the recommendation of its Building Committee that now is the time to finalize the project so that shovels can go in the ground as early as next summer.   "I think it's worth repeating every time that it's a complicated project, and

Williamstown Residents Urged to Attend Planning Sessions

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Residents are being encouraged to attend at least one of two community meetings next month to provide input into the town's comprehensive plan.   Representatives from the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee attended the Select Board's meeting on Monday to both announce the release of the committee's "existing conditions" report and promote the open house it plans for Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Williamstown Youth Center.   The Thursday event will be held in two sessions, at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., and is designed to collect thoughts from the public about the many elements that go into what formerly was known as the town's master

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. -- The MCLA volleyball team cruised to a four-set MASCAC victory over Mass Maritime Saturday afternoon 25-9, 25-17, 21-25, 25-13.   Tied at 4-all early in the 1st set, MCLA (7-3, 2-0) used a dominating 20-3 run to separate themselves and jump out to a 1-0 set advantage. Up 8-6 in the second, the Trailblazers used a more modest 8-2 run to pull away at 16-8. That eight-point cushion would prove to be the difference as MCLA would take the set 25-17.   Though down 20-14 in the third set, after reeling off six straight points it looked like the Trailblazers were poised to close out the match. Successful Reunion for Mount Greylock's First Graduates

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — More than two dozen alumni from Mount Greylock Regional School attended the class of 1962's 60th reunion this month.   "We toured the 'new' high school, amazing place," organizer Caroline Martel said. "Much bigger than we had. And an outside classroom, I loved that idea. Fall Seniors Golf Tour Tees Off at Berkshire Hills

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Ralph Distoli and Bob Linn had the low gross score at Berkshire Hills Country Club in the inaugural Berkshire County Fall Seniors Golf event.   The pair carded a 62 on their home course to edge runners-up Matt Ortega and George Candelet, who finished at 65.   The event on Wednesday was the first of a five-week series for golfers 50 and up to raise funds to support Berkshire County Junior Golf. Lee's Fraser Leads Team to Williams Invitational Win

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Lee's Thomas Fraser carded rounds of 70 and 74 to finish 2-over-par at Taconic Golf Club and lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic men's golf team to the championshp of this weekend's Williams Fall Invitational.   The Engineers finished a combined 15 strokes over par at the two-day event, 12 strokes better than runner-up Skidmore College.   Fraser, a senior for the Engineers, placed fifth last year at the Liberty League Championships and was named a Golf Coaches Association of America all-America Scholar.   Eighteen teams competed in this weekend's event.   The hosts from Williams placed fourth behind John Pagano and Will Rich, who each
