Williamstown Fire District Will Postpone Fire Station Funding Vote

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Williamstown Fire District announced Wednesday that it will hold off on a special district meeting to approve funding for a new fire station until at least early 2023.   The district Wednesday held an informational forum about the new building project at Mount Greylock Regional High School.   The meeting was billed as a chance to provide information and answer residents' questions in advance of a Dec. 7 special meeting to approve funding for a 27,000-square-foot station on Main Street (Route 2).   But at the outset, Jim Kolesar of the district's Building Committee announced that committee met earlier Wednesday and voted unanimously to

Eliza Edens To Perform at the Store at Five Corners

Talk on Frank Grant at the Williams Bookstore

Berkshire Libraries Fall Crawl

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — One dozen Berkshire county libraries are hosting The Berkshire Libraries Fall Crawl from October 17 to October 22, 2022.   All are welcome to explore the Berkshires by visiting public libraries across the county. Cost for Mount Greylock Field, Track Projected at $3.5 Million

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Mount Greylock School Committee on Thursday learned that the initial estimate to pay for a field and track project at the middle-high school is higher than anticipated, but the panel voted unanimously to take the next step toward bringing the project to fruition.   Estimators hired by the district's owner's project manager, Skanska, determined that the projected bottom line for an eight-lane track around a new multi-purpose grass playing field with adjacent areas for shot put, discus and javelin competitions is just under $3.5 million, the committee learned.   That estimate is based on the current market for construction and materials to
