WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Matt Karpowicz scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Saturday to lead the Williams College men's basketball team to a 71-66 win over Tufts.

 

Jovan Jones scored 14, and Cole Prowitt-Smith added 13 in the win.

 

Williams (13-11, 6-4 NESCAC) opens play in the league quarter-finals next weekend.

 

Women's Basketball

MEDFORD, Mass. -- Callin Harrington scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Tufts to a 76-63 win over Williams.

 

Maggie Meehan scored 17 points to lead Williams.

 

The Ephs (17-7, 6-4) play in the NESCAC quarter-finals next weekend.

 

Men's Hockey

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Jack McCool scored a goal and set up two more to lead Williams to a 5-3 win over Middlebury.

 

The Ephs scored five straight between the second and third periods to take a 5-1 lead.

 

Cosimo Lazzarino stopped 25 shots to earn the win in goal.

 

Williams (15-6-1, 12-4) hosts Hamilton on Friday.

 

Women's Hockey

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Jenna Letterie scored twice to lead Middlebury to a 4-0 win over Williams.

 

Chloe Heiting stopped 19 shots for the Ephs (11-7-4, 8-2-1), who travel to Middlebury on Sunday.
