Maimaron, Williams Football Cruise Past Bates

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Bobby Maimaron threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lead the Williams College football team to a 35-7 win over Bates.
 
Dan Vaughn ran for 96 yards, and the Ephs kept the Bobcats off the scoreboard until midway through the fourth quarter.
 
Williams (5-1) is at Trinity on Saturday.
 
Field Hockey
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Emma Ticknor converted an assist from Emily Batchelor to give Williams a 1-0 win over Bates.
 
Abby Lloyd made one save to earn the win in goal for Williams (11-1, 7-1 NESCAC), which goes to Bowdoin on Saturday.
 
Men's Soccer
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Jules Oberg scored in the second overtime to give Williams a 1-0 win over Bates.
 
Michael Davis stopped two shots to earn the shutout in goal for the Ephs (5-3-4, 3-2-2), who host Hamilton on Wednesday.
 
Women's Soccer
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Victoria Laino and Emma Lynch each scored a goal for Williams in a 2-0 win over Bates.
 
Leyla Kamshad and Chelsea Taylor split time in goal for the Ephs, combining for five saves.
 
Williams (8-3-1, 6-2) is at Bowdoin on Saturday.
 
Volleyball
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Williams split a pair of matches at the New England Challenge, losing in three sets to MIT before coming back to top Springfield in five sets.
 
Against the Pride, Lydia Kurtz had 17 kills, and Erin Denham and Lauren Berry recorded 13 and 11 kills, respectively, in a 16-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21, 16-4 win.
