DALTON, Mass. -- Jesus Lay worked a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 13th to give the Berkshire Thunder a 4-3 win over the Berkshire Bandits in the Berkshire Adult Baseball League last weekend.

It was 2-2 after nine innings that featured strong pitching from starters Joe Delsoldato and Seamus Morrison.

The Bandits had a chance to go on top in the 11th, but a great relay to Lay at the plate cut down the go-ahead run on a double by Mitch Storie.

In the 12th, the Bandits took the lead on a bases-loaded wild pitch.

In the bottom of the frame, the Thunder faced two-out with a man on second when an errant throw on a ground ball allowed the tying run to come home.

In the top of the 13th, the Bandits had two on and two out before the Thunder closed the door, setting the stage for the game-winning run in the bottom of the inning.

The win allowed the Thunder to improve to 5-1 and stay in second place in the 35-year-old league, two games ahead of the Bandits.

The Adams Aces lead that division with a record of 5-0 after beating the Greenridge Gremlins, 12-2, last sweekend. Dave Galvagni had three hits, and Jon Boucher had three RBIs for the Aces, who got five strong innings from Jeremy Broadwell.

In the 20-year-old league, Cornerstone remained in first despite taking its first loss of the season.

The Lenox Bulldogs got 10 strikeouts from Pat Colvin en route to an 8-4 win over Cornerstone (5-1). Mike Downer had three hits and a pair of RBIs in the win for Lenox (2-2).

Cornerstone is ahead in the standings but not in the loss column against second-place BBA (3-1), which will look to make up ground Sunday in a dobule-header against the Great Barrington Millers (2-4). Cornerstone is off this week.

In the 35-year-old league, Adams is at Dalton on Wednesday evening while the Thunder plays the Gremlins on Thursday.
