WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Junior Rebecca Duncan went 6-for-7 Sunday including a walk-off, game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the seventh of game one, to help the Williams College softball team celebrate its five seniors in style with a 2-1, 9-1 sweep of Bates College at Cole Field.
The wins extended the Ephs' win streak to 12 games and improved their overall record to 23-4 on the season. The Ephs are at NESCAC West rival Amherst Friday for the opener of a three-games series beginning at 5 p.m.
Williams will host the Mammoths Saturday for a doubleheader to complete the series beginning at noon.
Women's Lacrosse
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Cas Szwajkowski scored four goals to lead Skidmore to a 14-11 win over Williams.
Emma TenBarge scored a game-high seven goals for the Ephs (7-6), who got 11 saves from Kami Cisneros.
Williams goes to Bowdoin on Saturday.
Men's Golf
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Wyatt Khosrowshahi carded a 1-under 70 Sunday to lead the Williams men to a third-place finish in the Tim Brown Invitational at Ballston Spa Country Club.
The Ephs' Ben Beiers finished the two-day event at 3-over to tie for eighth place.
Women's Tennis
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Heather Boehm and Katherine Hughes led Middlebury to a 7-2 win over Williams.
Boehm and Hughes notched singles wins at first and second, respectively, and teamed with their respective doubles partners to give the Panthers two wins in doubles play.
Williams (5-7) takes a two-match losing streak into Saturday's home match against Amherst.
