WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Amherst men's basketball team Friday held Williams to 41 percent shooting from the field in an 84-79 win over the Ephs.

 

Bobby Casey led Williams with 29 points, but the visiting Mammoths (19-3, 6-2 NESCAC) outscored Williams by 10 points in the second half to erase a five-point half-time deficit.

 

Williams (19-4, 6-3) finishes the regular season Saturday afternoon at home against Hamilton.

 

Women's Basketball

AMHERST, Mass. -- Amherst's women held Williams to 25 percent shooting from the field in a 57-38 win.

 

Cam Hendricks and Madeline Eck scored 14 apiece to lead the Mammoths (20-2, 7-1).

 

Gabby Martin scored nine to lead Williams (10-13, 4-5), which goes to Hamilton on Saturday afternoon.

 

Men's Hockey

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Evan Johnson scored a power play goal late in the second period to send Williams on to a 2-0 win over Middlebury.

 

Mike Armstrong added an empty net goal, and Michael Pinios stopped 32 shots for Williams (14-6-1, 10-4-1), which goes to Middlebury on Saturday night.
