Williams Baseball, Softball Top MCLA

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Williams senior Lexi Curt went 6-for-7 with six RBIs and six runs scored Wednesday to help lead the Williams College softball team to a 19-0, 9-1 sweep of MCLA at Cole Field.
 
The Ephs improved their record to 23-6 overall while the Trailblazers had their four-game win streak snapped and fell to 6-14. Williams is home again Friday at 5 p.m. for a NESCAC West Division showdown with Middlebury. 
 
Williams scored 12 runs in the top of the first inning of the opener and never looked back. Jessica Kim led off with a solo home run and also had a three-run, bases-clearing double to center in the frame. Curt doubled to left center and also homered to right center in the inning. Fellow senior Margo Beck had a three-run homer to left in the same frame.
 
MCLA goes to Worcester State on Saturday.
 
Baseball
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Doug Schaffer went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs Wednesday to lead Williams to a 4-2 win over MCLA.
 
Christian Seariac went 3-for-4 and Mount Greylock graduate Brandon Condon drove in a run for MCLA (9-10-1).
 
Williams (6-14) hosts Hamilton on Saturday.
 
MCLA goes to Worcester State on Saturday.
