FRANKLIN, Mass. -- Dean College's Morgan Turner scored 24 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead the Dean College women's basketball team past MCLA, 71-64, on Tuesday

Dean (2-2) jumped out to a 19-7 lead after a quarter of play and eventually led 33-23 at halftime. MCLA (1-2) came back to pull within 42-41, but a 6-0 spurt by the Bulldogs stemmed the tide and Dean took a 48-43 lead into the fourth quarter.

MCLA pulled within three at 52-49 after Sam Gawron knocked down a pair at the line, but Dean's Nicole Romero made back to back jumpers to push the lead to 56-49 with 6:19 left to play. MCLA clawed back to within four points at 60-56, but Dean was able to fend off the rally extending to a 10-point margin at 66-56 and coast home from there.

MCLA was paced by Kylah Langston's team best 16 points on 6-11 shooting. Courtney Pingelski added 13 points while Sam Gawron netted 11 points and 9 rebounds. MCLA committed 20 turnovers in defeat.

Dean's Turner went 12-18 from the floor in the win.  Shannon Rosensteel collected 15 points and 6 boards while Nicole Romero notched 11 points.

The Trailblazers will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Curry for a 6 p.m. tilt.
