WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Alex Bennett had a hat trick and assisted on a fourth goal Saturday to lead the Williams College field hockey team to a 4-2 win over Amherst in the quarter-finals of the NESCAC Championship tournament.
Hannah Goodrick had a pair of assists, and Abby Lloyd stopped eight shots in the win for the Ephs (12-4), who advanced to next Saturday’s semi-final against Trinity at Middlebury College.
Football
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Ephs finished their “regular season” with a 24-6 win over Hamilton as T.J. Dozier rushed for 112 yards.
Bobby Maimaron threw for 286 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including a 76-yarder to Justin Nelson.
The Ephs (5-2) finish the season with the Little Three tournament, starting next Saturday at Wesleyan before hosting Amherst on Veteran’s Day.
Men’s Soccer
BRUNSWICK, Maine. -- Bowdoin ousted Williams from the NESCAC tournament with a penalty-kick win after the teams played to a 1-1 stalemate after two rounds of overtime.
The Polar Bears struck first in regulation, going on top in the 54th minute. Williams’ Mark Sisco-Tolomeo got the equalizer in the 78th minute to force OT.
Bobby Schneiderman made two saves in 110 minutes between the pipes.
Women’s Soccer
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Victoria Laino scored a pair of unassisted goals, and the top-seeded Ephs defeated Bowdoin, 4-0, in the quarter-finals of the NESCAC tournament at Cole Field.
Natalie Turner-Wyatt had a goal and an assist, and Whitney Lincoln needed to make one save to earn the shutout for Williams (14-1-1), which hosts rival Amherst on Saturday morning in the league semi-finals.
