To the Editor:

We moved up to Massachusetts from New York a few years ago, looking for a comfortable place to live, work, and be involved in our community. The Berkshires have always been important to us and settling here was a dream come true. As artists, we love the community support afforded the arts and together with a few new friends we started the Adams Arts Advisory Board, hosted the first Berkshire Mountains Faerie Festival, established the Art on the Trail initiative along the Ashuwillticook Trail in Adams.

Getting involved in several other area groups brought us connections in many towns of the NoCo region. We met folks who, like us had raised their children in more urban areas, and in retirement or semi-retirement had also chosen this wonderful corner of the world to make their homes.

Meeting the energized Lisa Blackmer, seeing her interact with folks, and watching their responses back re-enforced our choice that NoCo was the place to be. There ARE politicians and representatives that care, that get involved, that are an integral part of a community.

Lisa Blackmer is ALWAYS there! She supports every community event, understands every issue, and understands how our political system works. The Berkshire region has benefited greatly from her work and support. Her work with the Massachusetts Municipal Association has brought her up close and personal with communities across the region and state.

She has the chops to work hard for all of us, here in NoCo and represent us, across the great Western Mass divide, in Boston. Lisa Blackmer will carry the Berkshires' voice to Boston, we will be heard.
