To the Editor:
I’m writing to express my support for Lisa Blackmer for state representative.
Yesterday, FaceBook shared a memory of my 2011 run for North Adams City Council. The photo reminded of the support I had from Lisa Blackmer when I chose to become involved in community service. It is a challenging job. Lisa supported me because she believes that our communities are better when all citizens are engaged.
Her energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm for our communities are unmatched. Not only has she served the city well for the past 10 years, both here and in Boston, but she has been a staunch supporter of every cause she comes across. She has worked hard on the Board of the Girl Scouts, the Santa Fund, and MCLA Alumni. I have worked with her personally on North Adams Open Studios and Art About Town.
Sometimes she goes to three spaghetti dinners in one night, just to support the community events that they fund. She shows up and has been doing this as long as I have known her.
It is this work ethic, knowledge and passion for our communities that I know she will take to Boston. She will represent us more effectively than any other candidate could.
Lisa has my vote on Tuesday for state representative, I hope she has yours.
