WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- A Lanesborough man was transported to Baystate Medical Center after a one-car motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Cold Spring Road and the Taconic Trail, Williamstown Police reported on Saturday.

Brandon C. Decelles, 22, of Scott Road in Lanesborough, early Satruday morning was operating a 1998 Subaru Legacy southbound on Cold Spring Road (Route 7), when he veered into the northbound lane and ultimately left the road completely, police said. Decelles narrowly missed a utility pole before striking a second one and finally impacting a large cement block in front of the A-Frame Bakery.

Decelles, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was transported to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield by Village Ambulance Service with serious injuries. Decelles later was transported to Baystate Medical Center and listed in critical condition, police said.

The investigation is being conducted by Sgt. Scott McGowan. Criminal charges are anticipated at the conclusion, police said.
