WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Mike Strizzi doubled in two runs in a six-run sixth inning that gave the Cages Baseball Club an 8-4 win and a split in Sunday’s double-header against the Champlain Mariners.

The Mariners took the first game, 6-4, and appeared to be headed for a sweep when they took a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth, but Cages rallied to get to 2-4 on the season and snap a 20-game winning streak for Champlain.

Kellen Hathaway went 2-for-2, and Eric Leitch drove in a pair of runs in the win.

Alex Carusotto went the distance to earn the win, striking out six, walking two and allowing just one earned run.

In Sunday’s opener, Brodie Altiere went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs, and Kody Crosier and Dominic DeFelice each doubled for Cages.

Matt Braman, Crosier and Keagan McGrath combined to allow just one earned run as Cages was tagged with four errors.

Cages goes west on Thursday to take on the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dogs.
