Williamstown Police Wins 10th Straight

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Williamstown Police ran its winning streak to 10 with two recent victories in Cal Ripken Baseball League play.
 
On Saturday, Joshua Polumbo threw a complete game and Oscar Low had a home run and three runs batted in to lead Police to an 11-1 victory over South Berkshire that ended after four innings due to the mercy rule. Thomas Martin added two RBIs, and Austin Buda had two hits to help lead the Police attack.
 
On Monday, Xander Axt threw a complete game in a 5-2 victory over Pownal Carbone Auto Plaza.
 
The infield of Jack Gitterman, Joshua Polumbo, Oscar Low and Thomas Martin supported Axt's effort with tremendous defense throughout the game. Jack Cangelosi, Low, Polumbo and Gitterman each had key run scoring hits to lead the offensive effort.
 
Tristan Gardner threw four outstanding innings for Carbone, allowing only one run.
