Williamstown League of Women Voters Sets Candidate Forums

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The League of Women of Williamstown is sponsoring four forums for the candidates in contested races for town offices.

The public is invited to attend and participate. All forums will be held in the Seletmen's Room at Town Hall and will be taped by Willinet. Candidates will make opening and closing statements, and members of the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Wednesday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m.: Planning Board
Candidates running for the final two years on an unexpired term on the Planning Board are newcomers Anne W. Hogeland of Cold Spring Road, Christopher J. Kapiloff of Luce Road and Bruce MacDonald of Hancock Road.

On Tuesday, April 26, 6 p.m.: Planning Board
Candidates running for a five-year term on the Planning Board are Sarah S. Gardner (currently filling the unexpired term) and newcomers Lindsay R. Errichetto of Henderson Road and Susan Puddester of Chestnut Street.

Tuesday, April 26, 7:30 p.m.: School Committee
Candidates running for two three-year seats on the Williamstown School Committee are Dan Caplinger (currently chairman) and newcomers Joseph C. Bergeron of Main Street, Liam J. Brody of Adams Road, Maury McCarthy Lawson of North Hoosac Road and Sanjay Sharma of Longview Terrace.

Wednesday, April 27, at 7 p.m.: Board of Selectmen
Candidates running for two three-year terms as selectmen are Jane Patton (currently chairman) and newcomers Cynthia D. Payne of Main Street and Jeffrey D. Thomas of Gale Road.

Town elections will be held on Tuesday, May 10, at the Williamstown Elementary School.

The League of Women Voters is a grassroots organization, working at the national, state and local levels to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influence public policy through education and advocacy. The online publication The Greylock Independent has also scheduled a candidates' forum for Planning Board candidates on Wednesday, April 6, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the elementary school.
