WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Members of the family of Carl H. Reidel joined Williamstown officials on Saturday for the official opening of a hiking trail named in his honor.

The half-mile trail connects Stone Hill Road near the Lunder Center of the Clark Art Institute with other trails. The new route was established this year by members of the town's Conservation Commission, which manages the woodlot.

A brief ceremony and ceremonial first hike were held on Oct. 3
