BRUNSWICK, Maine — The Williams College women's soccer team beat Bowdoin, 2-1, in overtime on Sunday.

Audrey Thomas’ eighth goal of the season gave Williams a 1-0 lead, but it was canceled out by Julia Patterson’s bullet to force extra time.

However, Thomas again found herself in the right place at the right time to bag her sixth goal of the weekend and lift the Ephs to another NESCAC victory.

Williams (5-0, 4-0 NESCAC) is home on Saturday to face Amherst at 11 a.m.

MEN'S SOCCER
BRUNSWICK, Maine -- In the second of two weekend road games, the Williams College men's soccer team won a 1-0 squeaker over Bowdoin on a 75th minute goal by back Greg Andreou.

Williams now improves to 3-2 on the season (2-1 NESCAC), while Bowdoin drops to 2-2 (1-2 NESCAC).

Williams (3-2, 2-1 NESCAC) started out the game strong thanks to their attacking game and combo play. By the end of the first half, the Ephs had taken six shots and had consistently pressured the Bowdoin back line.

However, as the second half started, it looked like Bowdoin was starting to find their groove, passing fluidly and finding their way past the midfield for two on target shots in the first fifteen minutes, but the Polar Bears ran into the stone wall that was Williams goalie Christian Alcorn, who made some key saves throughout the second half.

In the 75th minute when senior Mohammed Rashid took a free kick in Bowdoin territory which tipped off a Bowdoin defender and onto the foot of Greg Andreou, who tapped in his first collegiate goal.

Williams hosts Amherst on Saturday at 1 p.m.
