WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Mount Greylock Regional School on Wednesday announced the two seniors chosen to speak at the school's commencement ceremony.

Ian Scott Brink was selected by the class of 2015, and Jacqueline Elizabeth van Slycke was selected by the school's faculty to speak at the event, scheduled for Saturday, June 6, at 5 p.m.

The title of Brink's speech is "The Greylock Experience."

While at Mount Greylock, Brink's academic program included honors and Advanced Placement classes. He was selected to attend the Berkshire County Student Leadership Summit in his sophomore year, and in his senior year was chosen to present at the summit. Brink also served on the district attorney's Youth Advisory Board.

Brink is an avid athlete, serving as a four-year participant on the soccer, baseball and basketball teams. In his senior year he served as captain of both the baseball and basketball teams. He was named the Berkshire County Most Valuable Baseball player for this school year. When he was not on the sports field, he spent time as a sports writer for the school newspaper, the Echo.

The title of van Slycke's speech is "Counting Down and Looking Back."

Van Slycke is a National Honor Society and Peer Team member. As a Peer Team member, she contributed to the well-being of the school by mentoring middle school students and providing emotional, social and academic support to fellow students.

Van Slycke was nominated to attend the Rotary Youth leadership program in her sophomore year. Nominated students are among the top six in their class who exhibit qualities of good citizenship, leadership and social interaction as judged by the faculty.

Van Slycke's academic program includes honors and Advanced Placement classes.

In addition to her school activities, she has been a community volunteer at the David and Joyce Milne Library, at Williamstown Elementary School, and at the Berkshire Dance Theater. She is an active member of the Berkshire Dance Theater and has spent the last 14 years perfecting her talent.

Van Slycke will be attending Siena College in the fall.
