LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — Apparently only Chairwoman Regina DiLego is willing to serve on the School Committee.

The two other seats with her on the committee are up for election but no one took out nomination papers. The nominations to be placed on the annual election ballot were due Tuesday, leaving those seats to be filled by write-ins or future appointments.

Robert Barton, whose term doesn't expire until 2016,  said he is resigning from the committee and Jim Moriarty said he will not seek re-election. Whoever is appointed or elected via write-ins for Barton's seat will finish out the final year in his term before being back up for election. The other seat is for three years. DiLego's term doesn't expire until 2017

It is unclear how the board will be filled should there be no write-in votes.

Out of 11 seats in town government available, only five candidates returned papers, one of them seeking three offices.

Tom Mierzewski is challenging current Board of Selectmen Chairman John Goerlach for a three-year seat. Goerlach returned his papers and will be on the ballot. Mierzewski is also seeking a five-year seat on the Planning Board and a three-year term on the Sewer Commission.

John Friend, the chairman of the Planning Board, did not take out election papers for the one five-year seat on the board that Mierzewski is seeking.

Stephen Wentworth, who was appointed last year to the Finance Committee to finish the term of William Stevens, is seeking to return to that board for three years. The other Finance Committee seat up for election — that of Gregory Wolf — does not have a candidate. That, too, is for three years.

Robert Reilly plans to return as moderator. He returned his nomination papers and nobody is challenging him. Anne Pasko is seeking to return to the library trustees for another two-year term. But nobody is seeking the other library trustee seat.

Nobody took out papers to serve on the Cemetery Commission.

The town election is Tuesday, June 16.
