Berkshire County Head Start Registering Children for 2015-16 School Year

Children who will be 3 or 4 years old by their local elementary school cutoff date may be eligible for a free preschool program at one of the seven sites throughout Berkshire County.

If parents cannot attend any of the registrations, applications are always accepted and can be obtained by calling 413-499-0137 or downloading an application from www.berkhs.org.

Income verification is needed with a completed application and eligible children are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Registrations will be held at the following locations:

March 4, 6-7 p.m.: Lee Elementary School, 1 Greylock St., Lee

March 11, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Muddy Brook School, 318 Monument Valley Road, Great Barrington

March 12, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Becket Washington School, 12 Maple St., Becket

March 17, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.: Morningside Community School, Burbank Street, Pittsfield

March 23, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.: Conte Community School, 200 West Union St., Pittsfield

March 28, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: School Readiness Fair at the Berkshire Mall

March 30, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: All Head Start centers will be accepting applications and conducting developmental screenings as needed.

Please call 413-499-0137 for questions and additional information. Childcare is available in Pittsfield and North Adams and there are home based options for young 3-year-olds.
