ADAMS, Mass. – Adams Community Bank is partnering with Boxes of Love to support the troops over this holiday season.

Boxes of Love is an organization started by Patty Erdeski from Stamford, Vt. She began while her son was serving in Afghanistan.  Not knowing what else to do for him, Erdeski sent him many care packages. He requested that she stop sending them to him and instead send the packages to some of his buddies that were in need of certain items. Erdeski currently has more than 100 names of military personnel serving overseas and has just sent her 400th package to our troops.

Donations are being accepted at each of Adams Community Bank's locations in Adams, Cheshire, Lanesboro, Lee, North Adams and Williamstown. Trial sizes of any type of toiletries along with batteries, DVDs and CDs, chewing gum, snacks and iTunes gift cards are among the list of approved items. A full list is available in each of the branch lobbies or on Facebook.

Anyone with a loved one overseas that would like to receive a Box of Love can send the information to Erdeski at tjamd@sover.net.
