Donations Sought For ABC Clothing Sale01:45PM / Monday, July 07, 2014 | |
WIILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Greylock A Better Chance is accepting donations for its 21st annual giant clothing sale and its 4th annual linen sale.
Donations will be accepted only until Labor Day: quality gently-used clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories for adults, winter or summer, plus towels, sheets, comforters, blankets, bedspreads and other household linens (except curtains). Items must be clean and in nearly-new condition — no holes, stains, broken zippers, pilling, or other defects.
Do not bring donations to ABC House; all items should be taken to First Congregational Church, 906 Main St., during weekdays and Sundays from 9 to noon. Bags and boxes may be brought in through the door nearest the parking lot on Chapin Drive. Signs inside will direct donors downstairs to the collection spot.
Contact Carolyn Behr at 413-458-5557 or carolynbehr@yahoo.com for instructions or more information.
Proceeds from the ABC sales to be held on Saturdays, Sept. 13 and Sept. 27, at the church, will be used to help support four high school students of color who live and go to school in Williamstown during the academic year. For the past 45 years, Greylock ABC has sponsored more than 100 students who have attended Mount Greylock Regional High School and have been accepted at colleges and universities all over the United States.
