Commission on the Status of Women Seeks Applications

Applications are now being accepted to fill vacancies on the Berkshire County Commission on the Status of Women.

The Commission, which is comprised of nine members from throughout Berkshire County, exists to provide a positive and effective voice for women and girls within the region. Commissioners are drawn from diverse racial, ethnic, religious, age, sexual orientation and socio-economic backgrounds from throughout Berkshire County.

The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women, which is the BCCSW’s appointing authority, is now accepting applications for this position. The MCSW welcomes all interested and qualified women to apply. Applications and further information may be requested by contacting the MCSW office at 617-626-6520 or mcsw@state.ma.us.

The Berkshire County Commission on the Status of Women was legislatively created in 2004 and is charged with conducting an ongoing study of matters concerning women of the Berkshires, reporting their findings annually to the MCSW, and recommending solutions.

The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) is an independent state agency whose mission is to advance women toward full equality in all areas of life. The MCSW provides a permanent, effective voice for women across Massachusetts.
