PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Chamber of Commerce will host the 10th annual Women in Business Luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Berkshire Hills Country Club.
Sheila Keator of Keator Group LLC will be the keynote speaker and state Rep. Tricia Farley-Bouvier, Keator's niece, will be the emcee.
The luncheon is organized annually to celebrate National Business Women's month and to honor the history and success of businesswomen in Berkshire County. Past speakers have been able to share with attendees their knowledge of current social, educational, economic, and political aspects of the business world, and their impact on women. These keynote speakers have provided invaluable inspiration and this year's speaker is expected be no exception.
When Keator joined Kidder Peabody's Wall Street offices as a broker and had the opportunity to operate out of the Berkshires, she quickly rose through the ranks as one of the few women vice presidents within the firm. In 1987, she left Kidder Peabody for another regional brokerage firm - First Albany Corp. - after being recruited by the chairman. Over the years and through various mergers, her business continued to grow and is now known as Keator Group LLC and is based out of Lenox.
Farley-Bouvier represents the 3rd Berkshire District and has made a commitment to promoting work-force development, enhancing the quality of education and improving the transparency of and accessibility to state government.
The public is welcome to attend this event. The cost is $35 for Berkshire Chamber members and $45 for non-members and includes a plated lunch. The luncheon is sponsored by TD Bank as the lead sponsor and Zonta Club of Berkshire County as the supporting sponsor.
