PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Conservation District will hold its annual meeting and benefit dinner at Zucchini's Restaurant, 1331 North St., on Tuesday, Nov. 12, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The event will take the place of the November board meeting. The event features a talk on biodiversity given by guest speaker Scott Jackson, extension associate professor of ecology in the Department of Environmental Conservation at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Jackson specializes in ecology of amphibians and road underpass and stream crossing systems for wildlife. He has been a long-term collaborator with the state Department of Environmental Protection and the state Association of Conservation Commissioners and is currently working on various watershed and wildlife projects including the Mill River Watershed Project and the state Herpetological Atlas.
Registration forms are available on the website or by calling the office at 413-443-1776, Ext. 102. Registration must be received no later than Nov. 1.
Tickets are $28 per person with choice of entree, chef's choice sides, salad and rolls, coffee or tea, and dessert. This event is open to the public.
The board of supervisors holds open public board meetings every third Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. in the Conte Federal Building, 78 Center St., Suite 206. Berkshire Conservation District is a tax-exempt agency working in collaboration with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
