Coalition Forum to Discuss Support for Families Engaged with our Department of Social Services - February 04, 2008
The Northern Berkshire Community Coalition will resume its monthly forums on Friday, February 8th from 10 AM to noon at the First Baptist Church of North Adams.
The February forum of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition will be a discussion about the support needed for families engaged with our State Department of Social Services. The Department of Social Services has the responsibility of providing care for children and families who are at risk. One agency cannot do it alone. Caring for the children of our communities demands the attention of many. At any one time, over four hundred children in Berkshire County are in foster or custodial care, adding to the stresses of the communities where our foster homes are located.
So, what we are currently doing to support families working with DSS and what we might do to add to these supports will be the topic of our discussion at the February 8th Coalition forum (10 a.m. to noon at the First Baptist Church in North Adams). All coalition forums are free and the public is encouraged to participate. Join us!
For more information about this forum, contact Kathy Keeser or Al Bashevkin at the office of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, 663-7588. |
