Duff'em If You've Got'em
North Adams Regional Hospital went smoke-free Monday — so did all its sister sites, from Sweet Brook to Northern Berkshire Family Practice to the Women's Exchange. No ashtrays, no smoking: No butts about it.
Yuck!
Today's blue skies will give way to clouds and snow tonight. But be prepared for tomorrow morning, when the white stuff will get messy as freezing rain and sleet move through the region. The morning commute will be slippery — drive careful!

Cranwell Resort Receives Prestigious Awards

- October 03, 2007

LENOX - Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club recently received two hospitality awards with worldwide recognition. The resort was awarded the American Automobile Association (AAA) Four Diamond rating for the sixth consecutive year and, at the same time, it received the World Travel Award for "Massachusetts' Leading Resort."

Cranwell is among the less than 3 percent of the nearly 29,000 AAA nationally approved properties to achieve this distinction. AAA Four Diamond Award winners consistently deliver premier experiences, complete with superior personal service, first-class amenities and impressive surroundings.

The World Travel Awards are designated through voting by 167,000 worldwide travel professionals to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in the world's travel and tourism industry. Cranwell was winner of the Massachusetts' Leading Resort category, which was awarded to general manager Lewis Kiesler at the recent World Travel Awards ceremony at the Jumeirah Essex House in New York City.

About Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club

Cranwell Resort is an all-season resort in the heart of the Berkshires. In addition to its historic Gilded Age mansion, the resort features 116 guest rooms set on 380 hilltop acres, a panoramic 18-hole championship golf course, the Golf Digest Golf School, four restaurants, rooms for conferences and weddings, and one of the largest resort spas in the Northeast.

Cranwell has received many other awards, including the SpaFinder 2006 Readers’ Choice Award for one of "Best Spa Resorts for Golf." Boston Magazine’s New England Travel and Life named Cranwell the Top Resort in Massachusetts for 2006. In addition, Cranwell was named in Golf Digest’s "Best Places to Play" and in two Zagat’s Guides: "Top 100 Courses" and "Top U.S. Hotels, Resorts & Spas."

Recognition for the golf course was also made in The Best of Northeast Golf 2006 Readers Choice Awards. Cranwell’s restaurants received the Wine Spectator Magazine Award for Excellence and earned the "Best of the East 2006" award from readers of Meetings East Magazine.

Cranwell is just 2 1/2 hours from New York City and Boston. For information, call 800-272-6935 or visit www.cranwell.com
