GREENSBORO, N.C. --  It may have been the best call Williams senior Natasha Albaneze has made in her young life.   Early in the second half of Saturday's NCAA Div. III national championship game versus the University of Chicago, her teammate Natalie Turner-Wyatt had played a ball into the Maroons' box. Albaneze and Alison Lu both had a play on the ball, Albaneze boldly called her teammate off the ball, and then buried a shot behind the Chicago keeper. That goal held up thanks to a vaunted defensive effort over the final 34 minutes that included junior goalkeeper Olivia Barnhill making three different 1 v. 1 saves.   The result was the Ephs second national championship

MALDEN, Mass. -- Marcus Mollica scored a goal and assisted on two more to lead the Williams College men's hockey team to a 4-2 win over Tufts on Friday.   The Ephs (4-0, 3-0 NESCAC) took a 4-0 lead when Mollica scored in the second minute of the third period.   Keanu Hilaire, Jack McCool and Nick VanBelle each scored for the Ephs, who got 32 saves from Stephen Morrissey.   Williams goes to Conn College on Saturday.   MIDDLETOWN, Conn. DALTON, Mass. — Wahconah Regional High School's student-athletes have been presented with the Sportsmanship Award for District G from the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.   The award was made at the MIAA's annual Sportsmanship Summit, held this year on Nov. 17, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. It was presented in conjunction with Friendly's Restaurants, which partnered with the student sports association as its official "family restaurant."   Awards are presented to one school chosen by member school athletic directors in each of MIAA's eight athletic districts. Shugart scored twice and assisted on a third goal Saturday to lead the Williams College men's hockey team to a 4-1 win over Babson.   David Italiano and Colby Cretella each scored a goal in the second period as the Ephs built a 3-0 lead. WOBURN, Mass. –The Bay State Games has added curling to its 2018 winter program.   Curling has gained popularity since the sport was reestablished consistently in the Olympic Games in 1998, after being first debuted in the 1924 Olympics.   As an exhibition sport in 2018, the Bay State Winter Games competition will be comprised of eight teams from curling clubs across Massachusetts.
