Boston Sea Foods
The name might be Boston Sea Foods, but you don't have to travel to Beantown for fresh, tasty ocean cuisine. For more than 30 years, Boston Sea Foods has called North Adams home, serving up a variety of classic and specialty seafood dishes at its American Legion Drive location.

160 American Legion Drive, North Adams, Mass.

413-663-8740

Popular dishes include the fisherman's platter, a deep-fried combination of cod, scallops, shrimp and clams; baked salmon, filled with lobster stuffing and served with lobster sauce; and raspberry coconut shrimp. When asked to name his favorite dish, co-owner Omar Ameen thought a minute, then chose the seafood casserole – "you can't go wrong," he said of the broiled shrimp, scallop and scrod combo topped with crabmeat stuffing and garlic butter.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday feature all-you-can-eat specials, and on Sunday you can get two baked, crabmeat-stuffed scrod casserole dinners, topped with Mornay sauce, for just $16.95.

The restaurant offers a variety of appetizers, from crab cakes to little neck steamers to potato skins and homemade onion rings. Order up a cup or bowl of the signature creamy clam chowder (also available in a souvenir mug), or start your meal with one of the salads (you can top your Caesar with chicken, lobster, salmon or shrimp). There's also a dessert menu, if you've got room to spare after your seafood feast.

Check out the restaurant's new Bostonian Tavern, with two flat-screen TVs, a tavern menu, and a full bar serving bottled and draft beer and frozen specialties such as frosted Margaritas and strawberry daiquiris.

Boston Sea Foods offers catering services, including formal occasions, buffets, barbecues and clam bakes (fully licensed and insured). Its new banquet facility, the Charter Room, accommodates up to 60 people for private parties, meetings, rehearsal dinners and other special events.

Restaurant hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Thursday through Saturday; and closed Monday. Takeout orders are available.
