Anna M. Lafave, 92

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Anna Margaret Lafave, 92, of 35 Adams Road died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at Williamstown Commons.

Born in Williamstown on Feb. 1, 1920, daughter of Alvah and Mary Humphrey LaChance, she attended local schools including the former Williamstown High School.

Mrs. Lafave worked at Rudnick's and at Drummonds Dry Cleaners for many years until her retirement.

She was a communicant of the Parish of Sts. Patrick and Raphael and was an active volunteer at its church festival. She was also a member of Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, TOPS. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren.

Her husband, Peter Lafave, whom she married on Aug. 28, 1937, died on April 15, 1986.

She leaves three sons, Arthur Lafave and his wife, Jean, of Williamstown, David Lafave and his wife, Peggy, of Grafton, Vt., and Dell Lafave and his partner, Serene LaRochelle, of Rutland, Vt.; a sister, Frances Townsend of Longmeadow; a brother, Robert LaChance of Lenox; her former daughter-in-law, Diane Lafave of New Jersey; four grandsons; nine granddaughters, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews

She was predeceased her sons, Donald Lafave and Edmond Lafave, and her brothers and sisters Louis and John LaChance, Mary Nielsen and Agnes Porazzo.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Lafave will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 70 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Thursday morning at the church from 9:30 to until 11. Omission of flowers requested, however, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Food Pantry in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
