Sherrill McGowan, 76

February 25, 2024

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —  Sherrill L. (Gendron) McGowan, 76 of Williamstown died on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.



Sherill was born in Williamstown on March 30, 1947 a daughter of the late Victor & Blanche (Girard) Gendron. She attended local schools and graduated from Mount Greylock Regional High School.



Sherill was employed at several local businesses in the area and was a devoted and loyal administrative assistant. She enjoyed gardening, cleaning, knitting, crocheting, going to Dunkin’ and most importantly spending time with her family.



Sherill married Edward Michael McGowan on October 23, 1970. They shared 53 years of marriage. Besides her husband, Sherrill leaves her sons, Christopher Morehouse, Shawn McGowan and Scott McGowan (Heather). She also leaves her grandchildren, Marissa Morehouse, Haylie Morehouse, and Linden Louise McGowan. She also leaves a sister, Wendy Gendron. She was predeceased by her sister, Carol Strzepek and brothers, Daniel Gendron, and David Gendron. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice Care, especially Linda.



FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Sherrill McGowan will be private on March 5, 2024 at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes – WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247. Donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, 877 South Street Suite 1, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
