Joan Paradis, 92

Joan Margaret (Gagnon) Paradis 92, of Williamstown died Tuesday February 20, 2024 at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Adams on August 31, 1931 the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Chappuis) Gagnon.



The family moved to North Adams where she attended Holy Family Parochial School and graduated from St. Joseph High School with the class of 1948. She also graduated from Bay Path Junior College in 1950. Joan was employed at Mount Herman School for Boys and then returned to North Adams where she was employed at Sprague Electric Co. In 1958 she moved to Williamstown and was employed as a teacher aid at the Williamstown Elementary School before obtaining the position of administration secretary to the principal at Mt. Greylock High retiring in 1988.



Joan was a communicant of St. Raphael Church where she was a member of the Bell Choir and Finance Committee. She also was a member of the Williamstown Grange #366 and would take notes for the Williamstown Select Broad and Finance Board. She enjoyed knitting, puzzles and her cats.



Survivors include her children Susan Andreski of Holiday, FL, Laurie Simon (Keith) of North Adams, Karen Jolin (Gary) of Williamstown, grandchildren Kyle Jolin (Jill), Kristopher Jolin (Thais), Marc Simon, Jill Simon Qudsi (Ramiz) and great grandchild Skyla Jolin.



A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 24, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Saints Patrick & Raphael Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. A calling hour will take on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested for the Saints Patrick & Raphael Food Pantry or the Berkshire Humane Society through the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA.
