Merle L. Gray, 81

November 10, 2017


WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Merle Louise (Andrews) Gray, 81, of Williamstown, Mass., died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, November 10, 2017, at Craneville Place in Dalton, Mass. 



She was born in Pittsfield on March 14, 1936, a daughter of the late Oren and Phyllis (Jordan) Andrews. Merle graduated Pittsfield High School with the class of 1954. Her career started in the insurance industry where she was office manager for MetLife in both North Adams and Office. 



Merle also raised her family and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a communicant of Sts. Patrick and Raphael Parish in Williamstown. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting, watching her birds and caring for her animals. 



Her husband Charles Edward Gray, whom she married August 16, 1958, died July 25, 2016. 



Survivors include two daughters, Colleen Aberdale and her husband James of Belchertown, Mass., and Melissa Richardson and her husband Frank of Stephentown, N.Y.; two sons, Charles E. Gray II of Colorado and Mark A. Gray and his wife Mary of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nathan, Ryan, Carrie and Shane; one sister, Jacqueline Andrews of North Adams; and two brothers, Ronald and Keith Andrews, both of Pittsfield. 



She was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Leroy Andrews; and a sister, Jeanne Teti.



Funeral notice: Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. 



Calling hours at the Funeral home are Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the Berkshire Humane Society through the funeral home. Merle's family would like to thank the staff at Craneville Place for the care and support they provided to Merle and the family.
