Clark Art Art Making Activity for Preschoolers

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — On Saturday, Jan. 14 at 10 am, the Clark Art Institute's Start with Art series returns.   January's free event is themed to storytelling. Designed for preschoolers, Start with Art offers themed talks, gallery guides, and art-making activities. This program is best suited for three- to six-year-olds and their caregivers.   Admission to the Clark is free from January through March 2023. No registration is required. BCC and BRPC Offer Free 'Choke Saver' Training Certification

PITTSFIELD, Mass. —Berkshire Community College (BCC) and Berkshire Regional Planning Commission (BRPC) will offer a free Choke Saver Training class offered on various dates in several locations throughout Berkshire County.     The 75-minute class provides participants with a two-year certification.    Local businesses, such as restaurants, that are required to have Choke Safe certified individuals on site are particularly encouraged to participate. Williams Women's Hockey Tops Wesleyan

M&T Bank Contributes to SVHC's Vision 2020 Campaign

BENNINGTON, Vt. — The Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) Foundation accepted a $25,000 donation from the M&T Bank Charitable Foundation last week.    The contribution will help fund Vision 2020, A Decade of Transformation Capital Campaign, the hospital's largest project in more than 30 years. Mount Greylock School Committee Considers Pause

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Mount Greylock Regional School Committee on Thursday discussed hitting the pause button on a project to build an eight-lane running track and multi-sport grass athletic field.   The idea was floated as a way to give the district time to secure financing for the project, which has an estimated price tag north of $4 million, well above the balance remaining from a $5 million capital gift the two-town district received from Williams College nearly seven years ago.   The School Committee was on track to vote to put the project to bid at its Jan. 12, meeting a timetable designed to entice prospective bidders in a period when the district hopes to receive

Clark Art Offers Free Admission From Jan. to March

Vermont Watershed Grant Program Accepting Applications

MONTPELIER, Vt. — The 2023 Vermont Watershed Grants Program is now accepting applications for projects that protect, restore and enhance the state's lakes, streams, rivers, and ponds, including Vermonters' ability to understand and enjoy these treasures.     Applications are due no later than Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023.   Program grants are available to municipalities, local and regional government agencies, sporting clubs, non-profit organizations, and water-related citizen groups.  Projects that seek to directly protect or restore fish and aquatic wildlife habitat are strongly encouraged.     Examples of past funded projects include

Williamstown Charter Review Committee Looking at Wide Range of Issues

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Members of the Charter Review Committee on Thursday reiterated that some of the issues it is examining may best be addressed outside the town's charter.   "The big choice is: Does it need to be in the charter or the bylaws?"
